TMP Worldwide's Melyssa Bernstein, Director of Client Strategy, participated as a panelist in Recruiting Trends' best practice webinar, "The New Candidate — Insight into the New Role of Recruiting" on Tuesday, January 11th. Melyssa spoke to over 300 participants about the recession's impact on recruiting. She provided insight on various recruitment strategies and relationship marketing programs implemented during the recession. Smaller budgets, the importance of social tools, building talent communities and local recruitment strategies due to the downfall of the housing market were just some of the topics covered. Melyssa also discussed the social impact on recruiting both pre- and post-recession. A thought-provoking discussion among all the panelists included the drastic change in job seeker behavior, hyper-targeted recruitment efforts and fundamental changes in the overall recruitment experience.
